Will Be Available for Adoption

These birds will be available for adoption after their quarantine period of 45 days.  During quarantine the birds are isolated from the existing birds, have bloodwork performed, and are observed to make sure they are healthy.Quarantine sounds harsh, but it is necessary to prevent the spread of disease among the flock.  The birds are visited and played with several times a day, and once they complete quarantine and are found to be healthy, they are free to play with the other birds.

Sage--Male Congo African Grey
Sage is a sweet bird.  He is quite the talker, and his blood work came back clean, and he has been DNA-sexed. He is officially out of quarantine, and will be available soon.  When he first arrived in July, he was very territorial of his cage.  I could not dream of even touching him, but he appeared eager to interact.  I would allow him to climb away from his cage, and he would be as sweet as pie.  I work with him several times a day, and he is now a scritchie hog!
Yesterday, Sage made another break-through.  He welcomed my hands in his cage, and he stepped up off his perch.  We have went on many journeys around the house, and he loves "going for rides" on my hand, especially to the bathroom to play in water.
He has new chest feathers coming in, and I notice that he is happy around other birds..  Hopefully, he will go to a home with other bird companions he can make friends with.
